THE WAD PATHFINDER Camporee 2023 is a closed event. This means that the event is only open and accessible to participants who will register. No general public/parents/church members will be allowed on site for a day visit. A Closed Event will assist in maintaining the spirit that is developed during the Camporee and also assist with safety for all.
BACKGROUND AND GUIDE TO ACTIVITIES AND PACKAGES AT THE CAMPOREE 2023
- HONOUR STATIONS: Throughout each day at the Camporee, various on-site activities will offer enriching experiences for Pathfinders who are then required to work towards earning new honors, exploring new adventures, sharpening their skills, and learning their new interest areas. There are varieties of stations up to twenty (20) of these stations that are going to be set up at the camporee. Some of these honor stations to be set up are as follows:

- Missionary Life

- Prayer

- Fire safety

Aside from these honors, all pathfinders will be given four (4) basic honors as part of their participation in the Camporee.
BIBLE GEM: The objective of the Bible Gem is to examine how well-versed Pathfinders are in Bible knowledge. Participants would be assembled and tested on their knowledge of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Winners will be given awards and other prizes.
OBSTACLE COURSE CHALLENGE: The Obstacle Course Challenge is meant to help pathfinders solve problems as they learn to maneuver their way out of, up, over, and or through obstacles of many kinds and many difficulties. Some of the obstacle course challenges would be:
EXCURSION: There will be an excursion as part of the camporee 2023 to certain selected site-seeing places and places that depict true nature. This activity will implore pathfinders to appreciate the marvelous handiwork of God.
COMMUNITY PROJECT: The objective of the community project is to propel pathfinders to engage in providing services to the host community for the camporee. This may include cleaning, donating old clothes, donating used books to the library, and many more humanitarian services.
DRAMA: There will be a drama staged on the story of Joseph, titled Dream, It’s Possible. Dream play(s) a significant role in his story and teaches that dreams and dreaming are very much important in the shaping and molding of one’s destiny; whether it is the Youth or Pathfinder that is dreaming of a purpose-driven life that he wants to work towards achieving in the future or it is God giving him or her a dream to pursue His kingdom’s sake. So, whatever the aspiration is – career, education, marriage, family, ministry, even heaven; the Pathfinder or Youth should Dream, It’s Possible.
PIN TRADING: Pathfinder pin trading began at the first North American Division (NAD) Pathfinder Camporee at Camp Hale, Colorado in 1985. The purpose of pin trading is to allow pathfinders to exchange pathfinder pins with one another. This helps them to learn to build friendships and learn to socialize with every other pathfinder at the camporee.
MARCHING DRILL EXPERIENCE: Pathfinders use marching as a method of moving groups of Pathfinders in step as an organized body. The purpose of the marching drill competition is
to examine how the best groups of pathfinders follow the rules of the Pathfinder Marching Drills. Awards would be given to well-deserving Pathfinders at the end of the experience.
BAND AND BRASS EXPERIENCE: The Band and Brass Competition would examine how well pathfinders can apply the rules of music and harmony to produce quality band and brass music with precision and of a high standard. Awards would be given to teams that are deserving after this competition.
COMPETITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
CRAFTS COMPETITION: The Crafts competitions will comprise of:
Handcraft: Any craft item created by youth for example a paper mash vase, items made in Pathfinder or Adventurer clubs, handmade book markers or cards, floral arrangements
Food craft: This may include cake decorating, fruit and vegetable carvings, preservatives jam, and any other food item that can be creatively displayed 3.
Storytelling diorama: In this category, persons should use three-dimensional craft items to tell a bible story.
- Awards would be given to well-deserving Pathfinders at the end of the competition.
TALENTS COMPETITION: The Talents Competition will comprise:
Solo works on musical instruments such as Keyboard/Piano, Trumpet, Flute, Xylophone, Guitar, Poetry Recitals, Singing, and Spoken word. This competition seeks to explore how the best pathfinders have nurtured their talents and do well to exhibit them to the best of their abilities.
THEME SONG CONTEST:
The song contest is open to WAD Pathfinders, 10 – 15 years of age, who are registered and actively participating with their local Pathfinder club.
The song must be an original composition
- Contestants are permitted to work in groups; however, only one (1) prize will be awarded regardless of group size.
- The song should be catchy, moving, and have a Christ-centred message.

Pathfinders are to come with their traditional dresses.
